VTB Capital, the Russian investment bank, let go most of its employees in London after being hit with sanctions, according to bankers at the firm.
The Russian bank, which has around 150 employees in London according to its most recent accounts, began making redundancies last week, according to people contacted by Financial News. The office will remain open until the end of the month, but most staff will exit by this time, one person said.
