Russia's Sberbank is withdrawing from the European market after several of its banking subsidiaries risked collapse as depositors rushed to withdraw their money in response to sanctions levelled against Russia's largest bank.
The financial institution has subsidiaries based in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Baltics. At least four have run into trouble and had to be sold or liquidated.
