Credit Agricole on 10 May posted a rise in first-quarter earnings that beat expectations.
The French lender said net profit for the first three months of the year rose to €1.23bn ($1.35bn) from €571m in the prior-year period, on revenue that grew 9.6% to €6.12bn.
