UBS on 18 April said that it is changing its share-buyback program and will use shares that it has repurchased toward its acquisition of Credit Suisse.
The Swiss bank in March last year launched a buyback program of up to $6bn, under which it has so far bought back 298.5 million shares, or 8.47% of its stock, UBS said.
